Theories of Business Ethics

Content

  • Prominent theories, or schools of thought in business ethics
  • Each approach's theoretical background, its methodology, and its main arguments
  • Theories' implications for business in practice
  • Comparing and critically reflection different schools of thought

Students prepare a seminar paper and a presentation including a group discussion.

Timeframe and Credits

  • Teaching time: 2 consecutive full days
  • Credit: 5 ECTS (elective module)
  • Credit can be granted for the following study programs:
    • Master Accounting, Taxation, and Finance
    • Master Business Studies
    • Master Empirical Economics and Policy Consulting
    • Master Human Resource Management

Grading

  • Presentation and discussion (50%)
  • Seminar paper (50%)

Schedule

Organizational details and topics for the seminar papers will be discussed during a kick-off meeting. The seminar itself will take place on two consecutive days.
