Prof. Reinecke (University of Warwick) visits bema

17.05.2016: Last week Prof. Juliane Reinecke (University of Warwick) followed our invitation and visited the chair. On this occasion, Prof. Reinecke gave a talk at the doctoral program "Ethics and Responsible Leadership in Business" in Wittenberg. The talk and subsequent discussion was about two initiatives that were launched in the aftermath of the Rana Plaza accident in 2013: The "Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh" and the "Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety".

Advanced literature research

19.04.2016: How do I find literature for my seminar paper/thesis? People who plan to write a scientific paper can join the training event "Advanced Literature Research" (in German) on April 28 at 10.15 am in SR.1. The training is conducted by Marcel Schmidt-Bonacker (Library Wirtschaftswissenschaften) and ends at 11.45 am. Registration for the event is not necessary.

Call vor Papers

19.04.2016: Together with the Chair for Social Sciences at the Technische Universität Dresden we organize the 11. conversations on business ethics in Zittau (October 2016). This year`s topic is "Corporate (Social) Performance – Measuring Corporations` Success and Responsibility".

Extended abstracts of theoretical or empirical papers as well as case studies can be submitted before July 3, 2016. The conference is intended for academics and interested practitioners.

There will also be a PhD workshop.

Lecture by Siegwart Lindenberg on April 27

12.04.2016: As part of the workshop series "Research in Ethics and Accounting", Siegwart Lindenberg will give a lecture with the title "Organizational Dynamics: The Interplay of Mindsets, Leaders, Culture, and Routines". Lindenberg is professor of Cognitive Sociology at the University of Groningen (RuG) and at the Tilburg Institute for Behavioral Economics Research (tiber) in the Netherlands. New Master’s seminar „Behavioral Management Accounting”

01.03.2016: Within the discipline of management accounting has emerged a specific behavioral-oriented perspective that analyzes how de-facto decision making deviates from standard economic assumption models.  In our new English-taught master‘s seminar we will outline how these behavioral deviations influence the design of information and incentive systems in organizations  through presentations and discussions.
